1. Who We Are

MarLogic is a mobile application developed and operated by DevAndRepair ("we", "us", or "our"). MarLogic provides a logistics management platform connecting Shippers, Drivers, and Receivers to streamline shipment creation, tracking, and delivery confirmation.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

• Full name and email address
• Phone number (for delivery notifications)
• Role selection (Shipper, Driver, or Receiver)
• Profile photo (optional)
• Hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text)

2.2 Shipment & Transaction Data

• Shipment details: article names, quantities, declared values
• Pickup and delivery addresses
• Timestamps: creation, pickup confirmation, delivery confirmation
• Digital signatures and confirmation records
• Dispute and damage reports

2.3 Location Data

• Real-time GPS coordinates (Drivers only, while a shipment is active)
• Route history for completed shipments
• Approximate location for Shippers and Receivers (city-level, for ETA)

2.4 Device & Technical Data

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• IP address and approximate region
• Push notification tokens
• Crash logs and performance diagnostics

3. How We Use Your Data

• Service delivery: Creating, managing, and tracking shipments across all three roles
• Notifications: Sending real-time alerts on shipment status, driver proximity, and delivery confirmation
• Dispute resolution: Maintaining shipment records to resolve disagreements over articles or delivery
• Safety and security: Detecting fraud, unauthorized access, and verifying user identity
• App improvement: Analyzing usage patterns and crash data to fix bugs and improve performance
• Legal compliance: Meeting applicable laws and regulations

4. GPS & Location Data

Location data is the core of MarLogic's tracking feature. Here is exactly how we handle it:

• Drivers: GPS tracking is activated only when you accept and start an active shipment. It stops automatically when you mark the delivery as complete or cancel the shipment. We request "precise location" permission from the OS.
• Shippers & Receivers: We do not track your precise GPS. Only an approximate location (city-level) may be inferred from your IP address for display purposes.
• Background location: Driver GPS continues to broadcast while the shipment is active, even if the app is in the background, so that Shippers and Receivers can see the live position. You will always be notified by your OS when background location is in use.
• Route storage: Completed trip routes are stored for up to 90 days for dispute resolution, then automatically deleted.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following circumstances:

• Within the shipment: The Shipper, Driver, and Receiver of a given shipment can see each other's relevant details (name, role, shipment status, and GPS position during transit)
• Service providers: Trusted third-party tools that help us operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, push notifications, analytics) — all bound by confidentiality agreements
• Legal obligations: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users
• Business transfer: If DevAndRepair is acquired or merges, user data may transfer — you will be notified in advance

6. Data Retention

• Active account data: Retained for as long as your account is active
• Shipment records: Retained for 12 months after completion for dispute resolution
• GPS route history: Automatically deleted after 90 days
• Deleted accounts: All personal data is permanently erased within 30 days of a deletion request (see Data Deletion page)
• Crash logs: Retained for 60 days

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights over your data:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion: Request erasure of your account and all associated data
• Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection: Object to processing of your data for certain purposes
• Withdraw consent: Revoke permissions (e.g., location) at any time

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest
• Bcrypt password hashing — passwords are never stored in plain text
• Regular security audits and penetration testing
• Access controls limiting who on our team can view user data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data using best practices.

9. Children's Privacy

MarLogic is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at hello@devandrepair.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of MarLogic after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
